Battling bad skin? Your diet is to blame!

What you consume not only reflects on your health but also on your skin. What you eat is often echoed through pimples, pigmentation or severe bouts of acne. What you need isn't just a beauty regime but a healthy diet. Here are the foods that help you prevent pimples and acne and those that cause breakouts on your face.

1 SUGAR You might believe cutting down sugar is necessary for people having diabetes. But thats really not the case. Sugar is present in aerated drinks, biscuits, candy bars and a lot of other foods. And when you indulge in a generous dose of sugar laden foods, your blood sugar levels rise which in turn results in breakouts. So cut down on the consumption and you'll see wonders in your skin.

2 WHITE BREAD Eating foods with high Glycemic Index will cause a rise in your blood sugar. High GI foods include white bread, white rice, chips and refined flour products like biscuits.

3 JUNK FOOD They seem like a foodie's paradise but it can spell trouble for your skin. These food items cause inflammation in your body and lead to a bouts of acne which take ages to be removed. So if its impossible for you to avoid junk food, then at least cut down on its consumption to avoid bad skin.

FOODS TO FIGHT ACNE

​1 VITAMIN C ENRICHED FOODS Your skin's health can be improved by giving it adequate Vitamin C which is found in adequate quantities in tomatoes, papayas, melons, oranges etc. Vit C will shield your skin and lower acne issues.

2 MAGNESIUM ENRICHED FOODS It is advised to eat foods high in magnesium as it helps balance out hormones that cause acne. These include figs, brown ice, avocados, whole grains etc.

3 GREEN TEA Green tea is packed with a host of health benefits. Comprising of acne fighting properties and antioxidants , you'll definitely want to include this in your regular diet.

4 FLAXSEED AND WALNUTS They help your body fight inflammation and keep your skin healthy. Flaxseed is enriched with anti inflammatory omega-3 fatty acids which work excellently for your skin.
