DIABETES: NOT EVERY OBESE'S STORY

It is not only the obese who develops diabetes. A recent study has claimed that 1 in every 4 indians who has diabetes is not obese having a body mass index (BMI) of less than 25 kg/m2. It also suggests that even young indians who are not obese can develop diabetes due to excess abdominal fat and subcutaneous fat in limbs and calf. The number of people suffering from diabetes is going to multiply manifold from 457 million in 2014 to 592 million in 2035 if no action is taken to arrest this trend. Here we list you 5 preventive measures to be taken to avoid diabetes.
1. BURN YOUR OBESITY Obesity accounts for more than 80% of new cases of type 2 diabetes. Burn your fat cells because more than 60% diseases are stimulated due to excessive fat in the human body.

2. JOG YOUR WAY TO A HEALTHY HEART Diabetes can be reduced by the adoption of a healthy diet and increase in physical activity.

3. SAY YES TO HEALTHY BREAKFAST Oats, cornflakes, eggs and milk are the stipulated diet for a diabetic patient. Otherwise also it reduces the risk of developing type 2 diabetes.

4. TOUCH ME NOT: COKE AND PEPSI Avoid sweetened beverages, fried and frozen food to reduce your chances of developing diabetes. Not only do they increase fat, they also have a harmful effect on liver, heart and stomach.

5. REGULAR CHECKUPS AND EARLY DIAGNOSIS Above 40 and still feel kicking and alive? Its time you realized you've crossed the limit and need regular blood sugar checkups. Early diagnosis can reduce complications and further damage.
